Iodic Acid

Iodic acid is a water-soluble solid and a halogen oxo-acid. A strong acid and a strong oxidizer in acidic solution, iodic acid is used to standardize basic solutions and synthesize sodium or potassium iodate for increasing the iodine content of salt.
