It is a chemical reagent used in catalyzing living radical polymerizations, in the preparation of polymer bound transfer hydrogenation catalyst1 and 4-(carboxymethyl-sulfamoyl)-benzoyladenosine. It is also used as a reagent in the sulfonation of γ-cyclodextrin.
