α-Toluenesulfonyl fluoride (PMSF) is used in the preparation of cell lysates to inhibit protein digestion. It is a widely used fatty acid amid hydrolase (FAAH) inhibitor for pretreatment of brain membrane preparations when testing CB1 receptor activity.
