Sodium molybdenum oxide is widely used as a fertilizer in agriculture, and a corrosion inhibitor being a non-oxidizing anodic inhibitor. It reduces galvanic corrosion potential, useful in industrial waste water treatment. It is recommended for treatment of whiptail in broccoli and cauliflower. It is a precursor for molybdenum.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
