  • Ibuprofen is a racemic mixture that consists of an R-enantiomer and S-enantiomer; the S-enantiomer is proposed to be the stronger acting agent

  • Ibuprofen inhibits cyclooxygenases and reduces prostaglandin formation, inhibiting fever and pain
